Samantha Carrie Johnson is a chef, nutritionist, and wellness educator with over two decades of experience across front- and back-of-house hospitality, integrative nutrition, and culinary advocacy.
A native of Philadelphia, Samantha trained under some of the city's most respected culinary voices — Top Chef winner Kevin Sbraga, James Beard Award-winning restaurateur Stephen Starr, Shola Olunloyo of Studio Kitchen, and Vetri Community Partnership led by Marc Vetri. She has served as Wellness Chef for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and currently leads the culinary program for Self Realization Fellowship Int’l Headquarters in Los Angeles, California.
A former Miss Pennsylvania USA, her work has been recognized in Glamour magazine and across national television. She appeared on NBC's The Chopping Block alongside Marco Pierre White, was featured on Chef David Chang's Hulu series The Next Thing You Eat, and worked behind the scenes of Recipe for Change: Standing Up to Anti-Semitism — winner of the Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Special — alongside James Beard Award-winning food writer and historian Michael Twitty. As a health and lifestyle coach on MTV's Emmy-winning documentary series MADE, and through features on OWN, Lifetime, and the Hallmark Channel, she has brought her advocacy for integrative and plant-based nutrition to national audiences.
Her writing and advocacy explore the cultural dimensions of food, agriculture, and politics — work that led her to serve as an organizer for Next Gen America on issues of climate change and food sovereignty.
Diagnosed with a pituitary tumor as a teenager, Samantha emerged from that experience with a deepened commitment to healing through food. Her private practice, Eat Real Meals, serves a global clientele navigating complex health challenges — from physical injury to autoimmune disorders — through organic, integrative nutrition.
She holds certifications in Plant-Based Nutrition and Nutrition Science from Cornell University's T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutritional Studies, and additional studies from The Wharton School of Business and NYU. She received her certification in Ashtanga Yoga from Himalaya Yoga Valley in Goa, India, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Film from Temple University.
Samantha has been a proud member of Les Dames d'Escoffier International, Women Chefs and Restaurateurs, Regarding: Her Organization, and Future Farmers of America.
